SIGN LANGUAGE MINISTRY
The LPCC Sign Language Ministry regularly provides interpreting services to our deaf and hard of hearing members and visitors during regular Sunday morning services. Interpreting services are also available for Wednesday night bible study and other events on an as need basis.
Sign language classes are taught, at no cost, every Thursday 7:00pm- 9:30pm.
Requirements for joining the LPCC Sign Language Department
• Be saved, according to Romans 10:9
• Have a desire to serve and work with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
• Be an LPCC member
• Complete new members class
• Attend regularly scheduled sign language classes
LPCC Sign Language Department Job and Responsibilities:
• As mandated by our pastors, Dr. and Mrs. Hodge, all members in Sign of Living Praise are required to attend at least 1 hour of corporate prayer a week (we have included this in our sign language classes)
• Serve as needed in other departments as necessary
• Provide interpretive services to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals as needed in ASL, ESL, Oral, etc.
• Attend bible study and weekly worship services regularly
• Assist and participate, in departmental special events
• Be a regular tither
• Present our bodies holy and acceptable before the Lord by with staining from fornication ( for singles) and adultery (for married individuals)
• Interpret for special events
• Provide interpreting services for community outreach purposes
• Attend at least 4 Deaf Events a year
• Arrive for services at least 30 min prior to ministering
• Attend regularly scheduled rehearsals
